OF SERVICE
1) Payment methods
Once you have filled your basket you have the opportunity to view your bag to review your order.
When you are ready to checkout, you can choose to pay by:
a) credit or debit card (powered by Stripe)
b) PayPal account balance
c) Apple Pay
2) Confirming your order.
Once you have made your order through our website, you will be sent an E-mail confirming your order.
3) Conditions of Sale
Please note that when ordering items from the internet you are entering a legally binding contract. We hope that you will be entirely happy with your purchases, however you do have the right to cancel your order at any point up to 14 working days from the day of receipt of your goods - PLEASE SEE THE EXCEPTIONS BELOW.
Please notify us in writing (e-mail is fine) of your wish to cancel your order. In the case of cancellation within the stated period a full refund will be made, excluding original postage and packaging costs. The customer is responsible for return postage costs.
PLEASE NOTE that we DO NOT offer refunds or replacements in the case of :
1) items made to your specification (bespoke/custom items)
2) rings
3) personalised items
4) individually painted artwork items
5) earrings (for hygiene reasons)
where work has already commenced or materials ordered.
Sizing of Rings
Please ensure that your ring size is measured carefully before you place your order as our rings are made accurately to internationally recognised UK/ US sizes. We have found over the years that our ring sizing gauges are by far the most reliable way to measure the correct ring size required - if using a professional jeweller we recommend that you obtain two sizings if possible as opinions can vary. Please DO NOT print gauges or charts from the internet or use string to measure your ring size as results obtained this way are not reliable enough for our purposes. Make sure if you are measuring for one of our wider band rings (8/9mm) that the measurement accounts for the additional width, and allows for the whole width of the ring to sit comfortably on the finger and pass easily over the knuckle when removing to wash hands etc.
Our precise construction methods result in rings that are crafted accurately to your required size. The size is repeatedly checked both digitally and manually throughout the manufacture process, as well as at point of dispatch, when it is documented.
If you find that your finished ring is not quite your desired fit, we can usually adjust the size slightly to suit. We offer this service at a flat rate of £35.00 per ring and would also ask you to bear the cost of postage - we recommend that your ring is returned via a 'signed for' service in its original box or similar protective packaging, as we cannot be held responsible for loss or damage in transit. (Please note however that in the case of rings that are more than half a UK size too large the ring would have to be re-made at your cost. Rings that are too small can usually be re-sized by up to one UK size but in some cases may have to be re-made at your cost, depending on the original thickness of the ring.) Please note that in the case of rings with an inscription, an additional charge of £15.00 will be made to re-apply the inscription once the ring is re-sized and in some cases it may not be possible to re-apply the inscription. We do not offer any warranty on resized rings.
There is no resizing option for metal (eg titanium or stainless steel) or ceramic rings, or our ‘Tay Rail Bridge Oak and Black Irish Bog Oak’ ring - if a wrong sized ring is ordered from these categories a new ring will have to be made at the customers cost.
wooden rings warranty
All of our wooden rings carry a one year warranty against breakage, as long as the 'care instructions' have been adhered to. Each ring is tested for strength before dispatch and evidence of poor care may invalidate your one year warranty. Our warranty does not cover accidental breakage or every day wear and tear.
We do require the original ring to be returned to our workshop for inspection, prior to work commencing on a replacement ring - we recommend that your ring is returned via a 'signed for' service in its original box or similar protective packaging, as we cannot be held responsible for loss or damage in transit. All customs and import charges are the responsibility of the buyer when returning items to the UK. We do not offer any warranty on resized rings.
QUOTATIONS
Quotations for bespoke items are valid for 28 days from date of issue.
Your unique wooden gift
Please note that when we handcraft your made-to-order gift we make every effort to replicate the examples shown on our website as closely as possible. However the images in product descriptions are included as representations only, and as wood is a natural product the finished item may vary in colour, grain or patterning from that shown, depending on the natural characteristics of the individual pieces of timber used. Your gift will be a beautiful and unique ‘one-off ‘ item to treasure.
4) Returning goods following cancellation.
Please return the goods to us in their original condition and packaging. Returns are at the customer's cost. If goods are not returned, we reserve the right to charge you the cost of their direct return to us.
5) VAT
There are no VAT charges on any of our goods.
6) Complaints
Here at The Wood Hut we aim to provide a first-rate service to the customer. We enjoy making and supplying beautiful, unique wooden gifts.
